Locked and Loaded FAST

[vc_row bg_color=””][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]It’s time to seek God… this Wednesday (6th Jan) we’re starting our locked and loaded fast! 21 days of getting locked in and Loaded up with the Holy Spirit…  #21days #morejesus #locked #loaded We are calling you to join us!

In 2021 let’s exercise our faith!!

TRUST AND WORSHIP
Proverbs 3:1-6  “My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart. If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying. Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Then you will find favour with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Decide if, what and how much you’re going to fast.

Remember – We don’t fast to pay a price. The price has been paid in FULL by Jesus. We fast for more… to deny ourselves of what we need/want for something far better!

Why fast in this season?

Every time God’s people are locked down, locked up or held back….we thrive! We explode, REVIVAL comes! When…. we seek God

Last year we all experienced lockdown and this year may well be similar but spiritually we can get loaded up fully in Jesus. There are no limits. The question is how much of Jesus do you want?

Right across the early church, being locked up for following Jesus was normal. However, their ‘locked up’ was prison! and death usually followed shortly after. Praise God ours is not the same in that way.

But in all cases, something would always change in the believers when they sought God.

1 – Prayer would rise
2 – Worship would intensify
3 – Love for Jesus would become infectious and all consuming!

The early church loaded up with more of the Holy Spirit – They knew it was IMPOSSIBLE to follow Jesus without him – Life was too hard!

What about us?

Acts 20:22-24 NIV “And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

What a life Paul lived…We are called and equipped for this moment and this year!!

The Start, during and end

Before you Start

Confess your sins to God. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas of weakness. Forgive all who have offended you and ask forgiveness from those you may have offended (Mark 11:25; Luke 11:4; 17:3-4). Surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ and reject the worldly desires that try to hinder you (Romans 12:1-2).

What to Expect

When you fast your body detoxifies, eliminating toxins from your system. This can cause mild discomfort such as headaches and irritability during withdrawal from caffeine and sugars. And naturally, you will have hunger pains. Limit your activity and exercise moderately. Take time to rest. Fasting brings about miraculous results. You are following Jesus’ example when you fast. Spend time listening to praise and worship. Pray as often as you can throughout the day. Get away from the normal distractions as much as possible and keep your heart and mind set on seeking God’s face.

How to End well

Don’t overeat when the time comes to end your fast. Begin eating solid food gradually; eat small portions or snacks.

Why Fasting?

Fasting is a great way to seek God for a short season so He can fill us afresh.

Fasting is about changing yourself, not changing God. Fasting is not about manipulating God.

Maybe you’re far from God, maybe you’re standing in the middle of a crisis with no answer. Jesus told his disciples some things only change with fasting and praying. Fasting is about denying yourself, taking yourself off the throne of your life and letting God be King.

Fasting is a choice, but it is also obedience. In Matthew 6, Jesus talks about three duties of every Christian: giving, praying and fasting. And He doesn’t use the word ‘if’, He uses the word ‘when’. You could choose not to fast this year, but why would you? Why would you choose to stay where you are when God has so much more for you?

“So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬
